“Joe” is a retired Army veteran from the Vietnam era. He suffers from PTSD, which has had very long term negative effects on him. Since he has worked with NAFH, Joe has dropped from 435 pounds to under 250 pounds (he is 6’3”). He has focused on functional movement which has taught him to move naturally again. One year ago, if Joe fell, he could not get himself up again. Now getting up and down is just part of his exercise routine.
Joe is also type 2 diabetic. So, nutrition is even more important than ever. It is clear that, as with everyone, nutrition and exercise are the combination that has helped Joe get where he is with his life.
Nick now needs to rein Joe in so he doesn’t go overboard in his health and fitness routines. Joe is now studying tai chi.
